It was not easy to say good-bye to my family in Vermont before I left, especially at such a beautiful time of year. In August so many of the flowers are still in full bloom!
At least I was able to get some photographs to take with me of my family (Mom, Dad, little sister Britt, and the dog Selda – see below) and our family farm.
My family drove me to Boston’s Logan airport where we had a meal together before I left them to go through security.
My flights all went quite well and I generally enjoyed my layover in Zurich. (oh your Swiss Chocolates got started one year before Mt. Holyoke College which was founded in 1837… haha Alumnae nerd)
When I arrived in Sweden my good friend Anna Eva and her family were there to pick me up and bring me to their home where I’ll be staying for the year as I study.
My arrival was made even more exciting by the recent birth of Anna Eva’s neice, Lena! It was so special visiting and holding a newborn baby!
